CLUB ANNUAL EVENT

THE GARDEN EXPO

Held at Spokane Community College the

Saturday before Mother's Day each year!

2008 Hocus Crocus

The 2008 Garden Expo, Hocus Crocus, sponsored by The Inland Empire Gardeners was held May 10, 2008 at Spokane Community College.  The Inland Empire Water Garden & Koi Society once again had a booth at this very successful garden show.  Over 200 garden related vendors had booths both inside and outside the Spokane Community College.

Margie Luce of Something Fishy agreed to provide plants as she has the last several years.  She shipped the plants to her location, potted over many bare root plants (400+), and spent many hours helping our club prepare for this event.  Thank you Margie for your support in this event again this year.  Margie has supported our club in this event for many years!

HOW YOU CAN HELP AT THE FUTURE

GARDEN EXPO!

What can you do as members of the IEWGKS to contribute to the next Garden Expo?  Lots!

1)     First we will need all of your unwanted 4” pots.  You know all those little pots you brought home plants in to transplant into your garden - save them for us!  If you have any just sitting around your house, bag them up and bring to an IEWGKS meeting.  We will use them for the next Garden Expo! The club will have something to transplant the newly purchased starts into.

2)     As it gets warmer and you identify plants that need to be divided-donate your excess starts to the club.  See to it that your excess plants get a new home and the club gets a few dollars.

3)     Volunteer to work either at the set up before the show.  We usually set up on Friday afternoon the day before the show.  The show starts each year at 8:00 AM (officially opens at 9:00 a.m. but we usually sell to other vendors as well) and ending at 6:00 p.m.  We usually set a record for tear down due to great salespeople! (2008 we were out of the building by 5:45 p.m.)

Keep this event in mind!

If you are interested in helping with this project in any way please contact

the Garden Expo Chairman listed in our Officers and Volunteers page of this website.
