South Hill Ponds

 

1.            Dennis & Mary Bates · 3110 E 36th  ·  Spokane

Located in a solarium attached to their home, this is a pure koi pond isolated from the elements.  The owners can enjoy their beautiful living jewels year-around in this tranquil formal setting.

 

Directions: From 29th, turn South on Pittsburg then east on 36th.   From Ray or Regal, turn west on 37th, then north on Crestline and west on 36th.

 

2.            Kyle McNaught-Davis · 1203 E 20th · Spokane

This steep back yard that is nicely terraced and decorated with annuals.  The beautiful waterfall cascades into a large koi pond.

 

Directions: From 29th, north on Southeast Blvd. to Perry, south on Perry to 20th then west on 20th.  From Thor-Ray, west on 17th, follow curve to 18th, then north on Perry and west on 20th.

 

 

3.            Donald & Patricia Schelling · 2109 E 17th · Spokane

A sloping back yard with a soothing waterfall flowing into a natural looking goldfish and koi pond.  The garden is all perennials with not a blade of grass. There are several sitting areas to enjoy the pond from various views.

 

Directions:  From 29th, north on Southeast Blvd. to Perry or 18th, east on 18th to 17th.  From Thor-Ray, west on 17th to curve.  Parking is limited.  Please park at Lincoln Park just to the west or across the street in the circle.

 

4.             Robin Keizer & Michelle Welch · 626 S Regal · Spokane

A secluded hideaway, tucked against a steep and rocky hillside.  There are several koi and goldfish ponds scattered amongst some very large rock formations and beautiful gardens.

 

Directions:  From Thor or Freya, turn west on 5th to Regal then south on Regal to end of Regal on west side of Underhill Park.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Valley Ponds

 

5.            P.J. Mahoney · 1220 N Ella · Spokane Valley

A new pond with a beautiful double waterfall and dedicated to koi. 

As a work-in-progress, we expect great things from this pond as it matures.

 

Directions:  From Broadway, one block east of Park Road, turn north on Ella at Centennial School.  From Argonne-Mullan, west on Broadway and turn north on Ella at Centennial School.

 

6.            Paul & Betty Fisher · 4014 N Willow Rd · Spokane County

A secluded paradise with a beautiful koi pond and outstanding gardens.  A perennial favorite with new additions to the pond & gardens this year.

 

Directions:  North on Mullan/Argonne, thru Millwood.  Turn east on Maringo just after the Spokane River, then north on Willow (or turn east on Upriver Drive and south on Willow). 

 

7.            Kristina & Harvey Wegner · 12119 E Maxwell · Spokane Valley

A very nice goldfish pond and waterfall situated amongst a beautiful flower garden with vegetables in the background.

 

Directions:  From Trent or I-90, south on Pines then west on Maxwell (one block south of Mission).

 

8.            David & Sue Daniels · 1719 S Pines · Spokane Valley

Home of Wabi-Sabi Gardens this koi pond is in a small green house with an extensive bonsai collection.  The surrounding gardens have an oriental influence. 

 

Directions:  South on Pines, just past The Pines Cemetery.

 

9.            Kathy Endicott · 12021 E 34th · Spokane Valley

The professionally built koi pond with stunning waterfall beautifully complements the deck and large patio. 

 

Directions:  South on Pines, turn east on 32nd, then south at first turn past school, then east on 34th.

 

10.     John & Anne Trevethan · 4071 S Chapman Rd · Spokane Valley

This is a beautiful alpine garden with a koi pond reminiscent of a wilderness tarn and a spectacular cascading mountain brook.

 

Directions: From Pines or State Route 27, go east on 32nd

then north on Sullivan ½ mile, then east on Saltese Rd (turns into 32nd again), then south on Chapman.
